Let Me Know if You are Still Using ADP

Postby gc_rjauregui » 09/30/2009 9:07 pm

I need to get a feeling for how many people are still using ADP, I know this project really took a hit and it may not recover, and I am not going to put any more time into development if there is no need for ADP.

So if you are indeed still using it and wanting to see further development please post here.

I hope You don't drop off the project, it's a great script.

Yes, this project is worthwhile for sure Ryan, even if you make small improvements to it over time.

One thing that is needed is a way to manage and backup the database within the script.

I have been using this for a while. But like my other post said, it has been broken for a long time because of the Google PR issue. Soon I will install the new version to see if this fixes it or not.

I have had many web sites attempt to add their site to my directory only to get an error because of the Google PR problem, even I could not add a link. It is very frustrating. Like others said the PR really should be removed as its not needed and causes problems.

We are building our hungarian catalogue now at http://linkek.adatbazisinfo.hu/. Very happy with the features of ADP! PageRank modul is not really missing.

From what I have been able to test, the new code does indeed fix the issue. Please let me know either way.

Hi there,

After having long given up on ADP, I decided today to just check out astanda.com expecting to find it in the state I last saw it in several months ago.
The fresh appearance immediately caught my eye, which made me rush to the forum to see what was going on there.
That an article posted as recently as May was by "admin" made very curious & I was at first shocked & then very pleased to see it was written by Pavel!!!!!! :D
Wherever he is, whatever he is doing, quite pleased he is back on the scene. You were very deeply missed ...
I was one of the people who were very much affected by that very unexpected "disappearance", over a very long time, since my interest in & subsequent plans to make a web directory started at & with ADP.
I was intensely looking forward to ADP 2.0 ... It was my directory script of choice after looking at all similar scripts.
Anyway, I have long moved on & set up a directory using another script at http://www.habarisearch.com. I hope though that the development of ADP continues & it has at least my moral support.
I do not rule out resorting to ADP for other projects. I need to check it out & see what new features are there. I am sure the planned v2.0 of that time made it very comptetitive if at least a number of the suggested features where added to v1.3b.

I'm also pleased that the scepter :) has been passed on to Ryan who I think proved himself over & over again as a good representative.

Best regards

Some 250 thousands matches in Google makes this project worth a bit more than just a bit :D
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe ... f&oq=&aqi=

... and thats just those few that didnt remove the footer. Imagine how many directories did customize the templates ;)

I am using a paid version of ADP and certainly wish to continue to use it. Willing to buy additional licenses if support and development continues. Thanks.
