The defaults stored in /admin/index.php?adp=config did not default. The following defaulted to 0, not to the default indicated on the page.

Display # of new/updated links:
Set the number of new/updated links to display on the front page. Default is 10.

Display # of recip links:
Set the number of recip links to display on the front page. Default is 10.

Display # of subcategories under each category link:
Set the number of subcategories to display under each category. Default is 4.

Oh yea, it should be "Suggested 10", the defaults are zero
